  Kari & Matt's Wedding

Yesterday was a BEAUTIFUL day! The sky was blue and the marine layer down at the Cove was nonexistent! But more importantly, our couple made the day beautiful. Kari & Matt are so warm and energetic, which we LOVE! Kari looked stunning --- her gown hugged every curve on her body and looked incredible on her. And Matt looked like a model straight out of GQ Magazine. It was such a pleasure photographing them. They are truly passionate about one another and it shows in their pictures. We would like to thank Kari, Matt and their families for being so kind & so much fun to be around. We are honored that they selected us to preserve their memories on their special day! We wish you guys the very best!

  Pam & Bismark's E-Session at Balboa Park

We love this couple! :) Look at Pam's smile...how can anyone not love her after seeing those dimples? And Bismark...he's a cool cat...shy yet he has a wild streak in him. ;) They wanted their e-session to take place at the Japanese Friendship gardens. As expected, we were surrounded by bamboo, shoji screens & koi ponds and boy was it fun! Can't wait till their big day!

Why do we love our job?!
1. We get to be creative!
2. We're surrounded by beautiful and happy people
3. We have the honor as being the ones responsible for documenting and preserving special events
4. We get some stinkin' sweet emails from clients, parents and even bridal party members! Here are a few examples: (to keep the privacy of the writer we have added some X's)

From a groomsmen:

Hi, this is Eric Fxxxxxx one of Brandon and Jessica Miles/Mang grooms-men... I just checked out the photos from there wedding - WOW!!! I'm writing to say how much I admire your work. I've seen a lot of wedding photos in the last few years. But I've yet to see anything that compares to the unique, beautiful, and artistic way you captured their special day. It would be one thing if there were a few "WOW" photos. But you have hundreds! Especially the bride and groom photos, they are really amazing...Most of us are all married now, but I'll be sure to spread the good word.

You ROCK !
Eric

After the engagement session..our couple wrote us this:

Thank you for this info and we really wanted to Thank you so so much for yesterday, we can't stop talking about how much fun we had and it just couldn't have been more perfect for us. You guys are so great and we both feel extremely lucky to have doing these pictures for us. We hope you have a great weekend and we can't wait to see some of the pix from yesterday. Talk to ya soon.

From the groom after they first saw some teasers of their engagement session:

Magic - simply magic. I think we scrolled through them at least two dozen times the first time I saw them. If you could not tell by now, we thought the pictures were absolutely amazing. We are very pleased to be working with you.

Eddie

From the parents of the bride:

Debbie and I just finished looking at all of the wedding photos. You two are amazing. The details are incredible. Unbelievable! We are so happy to have had you as the photographers. You were fun at the wedding and now you brought back all of the emotions of that special day.

  Gerald & Diane get engaged!

First of all, we would like to congratulate Gerald & Diane on their engagement. According to Diane, she said there was no way he could hide a secret like that from her. Diane had no idea and was very surprised!! Gerald, my man, good job and mission accomplished!!

My wife & I photographed Gerald's brother's wedding 2 months ago (check out denise & paul coughlin on our blog!). When Gerald decided to pop the big question, we got a phone call for us to capture this special occasion. On the big day at La Jolla cove, I was following and watching while shooting from a distance so that I wouldn't be noticed. I wore my baseball cap and shades and acted like a pesty tourist...now I know what paparazzi must feel like! At one point, Diane looked up and noticed me taking a picture from the cliffs above so I then pretended like I was shooting the landscape. I think it work which is why she had the surprised look in the pictures below!! Then the proposal happened...what an awesome awesome moment!!

I'm honored to be a part of this occasion ...congrats again guys!! We look forward to photographing you two on your big day!

One of the shots from a distance before the big moment...

Almost blew my cover here as they were headed on the beach!!! whew...a bit nervous. After the proposal she mentioned this moment and was like "Did that guy take a picture of me?" heheheheheh...the answer was YES!!

Gerald pops the question!

Identity revealed..... Hi guys!!

This was the three of us talking about all the things that led up to the big moment!

  Kirsten & Joel's Wedding

Kirsten & Joel were married at the Zion Church in Fallbrook. Their reception was a picnic theme...it turned out beautifully! Bright sunflowers adorned the tabletops, and the bride & groom substituted the "traditional" wedding cake for good old fashioned apple pie! Besides being the absolute kindest people on earth, Kirsten & Joel are super good sports for tolerating the heat while taking their portraits. Stan & I would say, "Okay, guys, we're done." But then see a quirky ticket booth and ask them if they would give eachother a kiss behind it. All the while, it's 95 degrees out. Hey, they always say that it hurts to be beautiful! And these two are truly beautiful inside & out. Congrats, guys!

Elizabeth & Scott get hitched on the high seas

Elizabeth & Scott booked us over the phone so we never met them face-to-face until their wedding day. We knew from our phone conversations with Elizabeth that they would be an easy-going couple so we were excited to finally see them in person. They are an incredibly sweet couple. They had a small, intimate wedding aboard a Hornblower yacht. During the ceremony, the space was so limited that Stan was on the floor and I was on the roof. It was quite an experience...nothing like watching a couple in love share their vows with nothing but ocean in the background!
